This is a perfect getaway but in close enough proximity to York city centre for you to enjoy the benefits of a quiet woodland experience and the hustle and bustle of the city! I would HIGHLY recommend Griffon Forest - we had an amazing weekend away! Miss K, Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire 30 March 2011
A superb relaxing break and a very comfortable stay. Highly recommended. Mrs Y, Lincoln, Lincolnshire 29 March 2011
This was the best break we have been on to relax and unwind. We wanted to get away from it all for a few days and this place was perfect. Badgers, rabbits, squirrels are all around you in such a natural habitat. The staff were so friendly and helpful and always smiling! We can't wait to get back to the place. Thank you so much for making our break such an amazing one. Mr C, Bradford, West Yorkshire 27 March 2011

Very peaceful, cosy lodge in beautiful forest setting, plenty of birds and other wildlife, beds exceptionally comfortable! Mrs H, Andover, Hampshire 26 February 2011
Griffon Forest was away from it all, well set where you only hear the birds and no traffic, amazing place to relax and chill. Great arriving to a hot tub, towels, tea, coffee, sugar and milk along with fresh flowers, this is what we all need after a week at work! Mrs H, Southport, Merseyside 15 February 2011
Very quiet well appointed site with plenty of wildlife. Superb accommodation - every little detail thought about carefully. We had two dogs with us and they had a great time in the forest and the use of the day kennel was super. Many thanks for a restful, superb weekend! Mrs. D, Bolton Lancs 31 August 2010
A very warm and welcoming holiday park. The staff were friendly and very helpful, including a treasure trail to encourage more children to go biking around the bike tracks. There were plenty of woodland walks and bike trails to follow. Then to relax there was a wonderful hot tub to enjoy. Mrs T, SHEFFIELD 23 August 2010

This is a holiday that is completely relaxing, allowing you to enjoy Nature at its best. Also, it is one of the few parks that allows you to take your dog into excellent accommodation. Mrs D, Haverfordwest, Dyfed 03 August 2010
A good location for getting around North Yorkshire. Relaxed and friendly. We would certainly recommend it. Mrs W, LONDON, England 27 July 2010
The lodge was in lovely wooded surroundings. Various birds (including a woodpecker) and squirrels readily came to feed from the decked area outside our lodge. It was nice to feel so close to nature. Mrs C, WYMONDHAM, Norfolk 26 June 2010
Perfect holiday, couldn't ask for anything more.. the little rabbits skipping around as you enter the park sets of the whole experience!!! faaaantastic Mr S, Sunderland, Tyne And Wear 12 May 2010
Griffon forest is a fantastic holiday, we have been 3 times and it is so relaxing and you leave very rested. The hot tub is excellent and the decking lovely to sit out on having meals. The park it self is very cleverly designed so you feel a million miles away from everything but close enough to get essentials. I would recommend this holiday to all - families, couples and friends. The office staff are very helpful and a font of all knowledge. GREAT. Mrs W, NEWBIGGIN-BY-THE-SEA 13 April 2010
Griffon Forest is possibly the most relaxing place in the north east of England. It is a fantastic place for both adults and children alike. The wildlife on your doorstep is brilliant to watch and you can't help but be happy and smile every morning when you open the curtains. Mr B, HARTLEPOOL 23 March 2010
The holiday was a peaceful break and gave time for rest which is what we went for. We never met with any staff but that suited us and we went the weekend undisturbed which also suited us fine. This was an experience for us that left us to just enjoy the weekend in our own company, and being tucked away in the woods we hardly had any reception on our phones which left us to thoroughly enjoy each others company. A great break and one we are thinking of doing more regulary. Mr H, LIVERPOOL 26 January 2010
Very quiet and peaceful, good for observing birds and other wildlife and within easy reach of York and many other attractions. Mr R, BECCLES 30 August 2009
Pay a little bit more and get a whole lot more for your money. All the little extras were great - toilet rolls, tea towels, oven gloves, hairdryer, and it was amazing to have own hot tub! mrs E, TIVERTON, Devon 24 August 2009
A nice and quiet park but only 8 miles from York. Mrs F, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire 14 July 2009

A most relaxing experience. The accommodation in secluded, spacious and is the perfect base from which to explore the cities, countryside and costal towns. North Yourshire is clean and easy to travel round. We took our dog on holiday with us and found he enjoyed it so much he didn't want to come home! Miss S, Redditch, Worcestershire 02 July 2009

A great forest retreat, within easy reach of roads but feels as though your in the middle of nowhere and away from it all! Accommodation high standard, equipped with everything you need and if anything is missing or not working staff immediately on hand to help out. Great place, will definately be going back! Mrs D, Lanarkshire. 07 July 2008
We had a lovely 1 weeks break in June 2008 At Griffin Forrest , We took our Son and his Wife and my Daughter there for a quiet break which it was, it was so secluded surrounded by trees and yet only minutes from York one way and the war museum the other way. It was so central for loads of things to do if you wanted, but we were quite happy staying around the Log Cabin chilling out. We took our Border collie with us and she just loved walking through the forrest and chasing after cones from the trees, But if we wanted to go anywheree for the day or part off the Day kennels were so handy I would give it a 9 out of 10 for a review for this Holiday well done keep up the good work, We will certainly be thinking about returning again soon Mr H, Kelso 21 June 2008
A great location and a beautiful setting for relaxing, but there is still loads to do in and around York. Mrs B, Knutsford, Cheshire 19 May 2008
